Boy was it hot in Lucan! It meant that Laura McLoughlin's time of 19 mins 30 secs for three hard miles was all the more impressive. A group of six stuck together at the front for much of the race, with Laura winning the race for the line just ahead of Louise Nolan of Sportworld and Blackrock's Louise Keogh.
A close fourth was Ciara Foster of Sportsworld. We are used to Sportsworld dominating the team category up front, but Donore with three in the top ten put in an impressive display.
See you all again on Wednesday when Donore hosts the final race in the series in the Phoenix Park. Registration (€7 entry fee) is at the Donore club house a 10 minute jog from the start of the race at Furze road. This is a two-lap course around the "Ordnance Survey" loop. Refreshments and spot prizes in the club hosue after the race. Because of time pressures, prizes will be awarded at a special meeting to be held before the summer break.
