Summer League Dates

This year's Meet and Train Summer League will start with a two-mile run/walk on Wednesday April 29 (8pm) at Raheny. Registration until 7.30pm is at the Cara Hall on All Saints' Road (near where the Axa Raheny "5" starts - opposite Raheny GAA and Garda station and about a 10-minute walk from the DART). Tea, biccies and spot prizes after the run.
Second run in the series is the 3-mile run at Lucan on Sunday May 10 (11am) followed by the 4-mile run in the Phoenix Park on Wednesday May 20 (7.45pm).
The runs/walks build up nicely to the Flora Women's Mini marathon on Monday June 1. Entry fee for the series is Eu15 or Eu6 per race (I think). All who finish will get a special series souvenir.
* Don't forget the 25th anniversary Dublin 5 Mile Classic organsied by our friends in Sportsworld on Sunday May 17 with the start at 10am - good news for those who have busy weekends. Entry is Eu15 (Eu20 on day) at the Sportsworld website.
Meet and Train info from Sue 087-6757843.
* All who competed the Winter League are due a special Series "hoodie" in royal blue - which looks very smart indeed! Your group leader should have them; otherwise contact Sue.

Flora Women's Mini Marathon in aid of Fighting Blindness

Location: Fitzwilliam Square, Dublin 2
Dust off your runners and sign up to take part with Team Fighting Blindness in the Flora Women's Mini Marathon in Dublin!

Last year saw our biggest team yet with over 80 women stepping out for FB.

We want to top that this year with a huge group wearing Fighting Blindness t-shirts on Bank Holiday Monday, June 1, raising money to help us in the race to cure blindness.

This is a female only event so gather your friends, mothers, daughters, grannies and colleagues to run, walk or jog the 10k route for a great day out!

Entry forms for 2009 will be available on the mini marathon website www.womensminimarathon.ie and in The Evening Herald from February 26.

Please let us know that you are taking part in aid of Fighting Blindness, and we'll send you a t-shirt, sponsorship forms or you can set up an easy online sponsorship page at mycharity.ie.
